At Klein Forest, our esports program is proudly student-led, giving players real ownership over meetings, finances, events, and the future of the club. Watching them rise to that responsibility and grow into confident leaders has been one of the most rewarding parts of coaching. When we transitioned from competing remotely to on campus, the club evolved into a thriving community where friendships, study groups, and safe spaces naturally formed. One of my proudest moments was seeing a once-shy student take on a new role, gain confidence, and eventually become our club president and the face of esports within our district, a true example of how powerful this program can be in shaping students’ lives.
