Wyoming Scholastic Esports

Our esports program started simply, with me bringing in my own Nintendo Switch, setting up a projector, and rotating twenty students through four-player games. What began as a casual club quickly grew into something more, and today we have a full esports lab and playoff-caliber teams competing year-round. Esports has been an incredible avenue to connect with students and teach skills that extend far beyond the game. Players learn patience, teamwork, and what it means to push themselves to grow. For many students, it is their first real experience being part of a team and competing in a structured environment. The program has also unlocked opportunities for the future. Students have developed new post-secondary goals, and it has been inspiring to watch their hard work and dedication drive the growth of the program each year. All it truly takes is one committed staff member to get things started and create a space where students can thrive.
